Volunteer: Serve Our Neighbors
The strength of Putnam County lies in its people. As we work to implement the Gloria Johnson Act and provide safe, dignified shelter, we need hands-on help to make it a reality.
Emergency Shelter Support (On-Call)
Churches often host “Cold Night Shelters” or emergency pop-ups. Volunteers in this category are the “First Responders” of hospitality.
Roles: Set-up/Tear-down, meal preparation, check-in assistants, overnight monitors, and drivers to transport the homeless.
Commitment: Occasional/On-call based on weather or emergency needs.
The “Ambassador” Program (For Churches)
We are looking for one Liaison from every congregation in Putnam County to act as the bridge between their church and the Coalition.
Role: Announce needs to your congregation, organize “Supply Drives,” and coordinate group volunteer days.
